MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with a house robbery on 5 June, which saw a 71-year-old woman being accosted.
A Southern Cape Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, said the incident had taken place at a residence in Montagu Street, Mossel Bay, just before 18:30.
“The 71-year-old woman was at her residence when she was accosted. The man allegedly demanded some jewellery and grabbed a chain before he fled the scene,” said Spies.
The suspect was arrested shortly after and appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday 8 June.
The matter was postponed to Thursday for a formal bail application, and he was remanded in custody.
