MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Three men accused of kidnapping a 16-year-old girl on Christmas Eve appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court today, Tuesday 7 January, for a formal bail application.
The men - aged 30, 38 and 48 - were remanded in custody and are set to appear in court again on Friday, 17 January.
The state said it would oppose the bail application.
Members of a joint operation involving a number of role players acted on information received regarding the alleged abduction, which took place at about 23:00 on Tuesday, 24 December.
The girl was reported missing from her residence in JCC Camp in Mossel Bay by her aunt.
A white Isuzu light duty vehicle (LDV), which was heading to Cape Town, was traced by members attached to the Overberg Flying Squad, Overberg Task Team and Caledon police along the N2.
The suspects were then arrested on Christmas Day at the entrance of Caledon, a town in the Overberg region of the Western Cape.
She was reunited with her family later that day.
The men made their first court appearance on 27 December.
