MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Bail was denied to a 58-year-old Mossel Bay man who is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl.
The suspect appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court today, Friday 3 March.
The suspect was arrested after he allegedly raped the child at her home in Mossel Bay on 19 February. The man lives next door.
Bail was denied because it is a schedule 6 offence and because it might traumatise the victim even further as the suspect is her neighbour.
It is alleged that a medical report confirmed penetration.
The case was postponed to 6 April.
