MOSSEL BAY NEWS - There are nine tricks for preventing Alzheimer's disease.
This is what attendees were told at the most recent meeting of the Mossel Bay Alzheimer's Support Group which took place at Santos Haven 1 in May.
Hein Marx of Adler's Nest frail care facility was the speaker at the meeting.
According to Marx, the nine tricks are: quitting smoking; being physically active; getting enough Vitamin B; having enough Vitamin D; learning new information to stimulate the brain; preventing head injuries; controlling alcohol intake; managing diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity; and increasing social interaction.
