12-metre cross set up for Mighty Men Conference

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Organisers of Mighty Men Conference Mossel Bay 2023 (MMCMB23), which takes place in December, gathered on Friday, 27 October, to "Reveal the Cross in Jesus' name" at Bartelsfontein Farm on the R327 road, in the direction of Herbertsdale.

The 12-metre steel construction was completed over six weeks by members and friends of Coffee for Men – the local prayer group that initiated MMCMB23.

Those in attendance on Friday night were told about the symbolism of the cross, before a lighting ceremony took place at 19:30.

MMCMB23 head organiser Lukas Swart said: "In our Christian faith, the cross represents redemption and salvation, forgiveness and reconciliation, suffering and sacrifice, victory over death, identification of our faith, and unity in the community."
