MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The popular Mossel Bay Flower Show will take place from 12 to 14 October in the Dias Museum Complex. Once again there will be categories for each and every plant enthusiast and as always, entries are free and lots of prizes can be won.
This really is an opportunity to showcase amazing local talent as well as our beautiful flora. Every year the tourists that visit the museum are wowed by the beautiful flowers and exhibits and they take very special memories from Mossel Bay back home.
Amateur flower arrangers can enter and this category is growing every year and more spectacular entries can be seen. The high standard that was seen in 2017 will hopefully be bettered this year.
The themes for 2018 are:
- Children under 13 - an arrangement in a cup with a toy and a posy.
- For adults - when flowers are scarce, to portray Spring and simplicity.
The exhibition in the Granary promises to be special this year and all business, nurseries, garden clubs and individuals are welcome to exhibit. This can also be used as a marketing opportunity as signboards may be part of the exhibits.
Entries can be brought in to the Museum on Thursday, 11 October from 14:00 to 18:00 and on Friday 12 October, from 07:00 to 10:00.
A lot of help is needed and if there are people who would like come and help before and during the show, contact Rita Blake (082 772 8030).
