MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The station commander of the Da Gamaskop Police, Colonel Khutala Masakala, has issued a warning to the youth in the JCC neighbourhood to refrain from committing crime, because "they will not escape retribution".
Masakala reacted to reports of youth being involved in criminal activities such as armed robbery and assault, which have been received from various neighbourhoods in the station's jurisdiction.
She urged the community to take action and bring these criminal elements to book by laying formal complaints at the station.
"It is important to identify these culprits. When reporting crime, the complainants must ensure that they can provided a description of the suspects or other details such as names and addresses to assist the police in making arrests."
Masakala said the guilty parties should not be under the false impression that their deeds would go unnoticed because of their young age.
"These perpetrators are hurting and robbing members of the community and it cannot be tolerated," concluded Masakala.
To report crime, call the Da Gamskop Police Station (044 606 2200) or sector number 082 379 2449 or 079 893 9935.
