MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The KwaNonqaba Police room for trauma victims needs to be equipped.
The Mossel Bay Advertiser is supporting this initiative via its Oliver Twist Project, which supports needy causes in the community.
Victims of trauma who arrive at police stations are offered the opportunity to be counselled by volunteers from the community, who are trained in counselling for this purpose by the police. Each police station has a trauma room.
The needs at the KwaNonqaba Police trauma room are the following: insulation to insulate the trauma room, carpet, bedding and blankets, kettle, heater, cupboard, toys, crate or basket or other container for the toys, colouring-in book and coloured crayons, clothes in various sizes for children, panties for women, soap, face cloths, deodorant and towels.
If you are able to donate these items, they may be dropped off at the Mossel Bay Advertiser during week days from 08:30 to 12:30. Call the Advertiser (044 691 1768 or 044 690 7156).
The KwaNonqaba Police would like to make the trauma room a comforting environment for crime victims:
