Wow, it's a rap

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A local girl's rap song about the Coronavirus has now reached 11 on Spotify, the online music platform.

The Mossel Bay Advertiser reported three weeks ago that Dané Prins' song, Mev. Corona had reached number 72, so it has moved up substantially since then.

Spotify is divided into regions. Dané goes by the name Onblusbaar. Also good news is that her song Jah Brah is at number 59 on Spotify.

Dané (17) is a matric learner at Curro Mossel Bay private school and now even Curro Holdings has started marketing Dané on its national facebook site. Curro Holdings has almost 60 schools nationwide.

The facebook site notes that Dané is a top five learner at Curro Mossel Bay and encourages people to vote for her song.

When interviewed by the Advertiser on her good result online, Dané said joyfully: "I am beside myself! As an artist, it is the ultimate reward when people enjoy what you create.

"My music has gained popularity recently in America and Germany especially, which is awesome. Currently I am working on two new songs. One is a relaxed Jah Brah type of song with a story line. The other is also a 'deep' song. I want to produce different types of music."
