SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Almost 50 women, girls and persons with special needs attended a capacity building workshop for women and the disabled on Tuesday, 12 March in Oudtshoorn.
It was hosted in partnership with the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS). The theme was: "We as women and disabled can do it!"

Basic timekeeping in track and swimming were presented by Abrie de Swardt and Thinus Eloff respectively, while Shireen Noble (SWD Athletics president) addressed the workshop on Women and Disabled in Sport Administration.
Jessica Gerber (Protea cyclist) delivered a strong motivational speech to all to never give up in reaching for the top. Jean Neethling, the acting regional manager of DCAS, congratulated Eden Biathlon on its initiative in hosting workshops such as this one.
"This makes Eden Biathlon a leader in its own right," said Corné Bence, Eden Cycling president.
The Eden Sports Council presented the certificates. In her welcome address Stephnie McKay, chair of Eden Biathlon, thanked DCAS for its support in hosting such events.
The workshop was organised by Dave van der Walt (operational manager of Eden Biathlon) in line with the vision of Eden Biathlon to build capacity among women and the disabled.
