MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Amid pelting rain an excited community of Joe Slovo attended a street meeting with the municipal manager, Advocate Thys Giliomee, and the new project manager of CSM Consulting Engineers, Keagan von During, who has taken over the stalled housing project in Walvis Street.
The community was assured the first priority would be to get a new contractor on site to assess the work already done so the necessary processes could be put in place to restart the project.
Von During gave the assurance that, as far as possible, local labour would be sourced to complete the project once the contractor had been appointed.
"Within the next few days you will see the surveyors on site. Within approximately three weeks of the contractor being appointed, work on the project will start."
The community thanked the municipal manager and said it would work with the municipality to ensure the project was completed as soon as possible.
