MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A group of women gathered on Women's Day, 9 August, for a creative workshop at the Seeplaas restaurant and function venue near Great Brak.

The women also committed their support for the Mighty Men Conference taking place at Bartelsfontein farm outside Mossel Bay from 15 to 17 December.

Spokesperson for the group, Melanie van Aswegen, says that since the launch of Mighty Men Mossel Bay on 21 July, the conference management committee has regularly received requests from women wanting to support the conference.

"The gathering on 9 August was an opportune time to start fundraising initiatives to support the Mighty Men Mossel Bay event."

Van Aswegen inspired the women at the workshop to understand their full identity in Christ. "Every woman is uniquely created for a specific purpose and just like Esther, for a time such as this." She encouraged them to let their lights shine and step into their positions as the Proverbs 31 woman, known by her extravagant generosity to those in need.

"Each woman plays a crucial role, not only in her family but the community and is called to make a valuable contribution to the Mighty Men Conference with her prayers, talents and time."

Beryl van Rhyn facilitated the workshop. She said the aim was to encourage the participants to investigate the symbolism and deeper spiritual meaning of objects, elements, animals and nature found in Biblical content.

Van Aswegen said: "One of the objectives of the Mighty Men Mossel Bay conference is to encourage men to take their rightful place to bless the people in their lives. Things go well when we walk in the way of Jesus: families flourish, women are respected, loved and protected and children thrive.

"We invite women and families to join the MMC for the Sunday service on 17 December."
