Photography has been a lifelong passion, which she now pursues through the lens of her Nikon camera. Not only does she enjoy the variety of the various events and occasions which she is exposed to in the Mossel Bay area, but she also takes pleasure in creating DVDs to treasure those moments. Her main focus is studio work, landscape-, urban- and travel photography and she also enjoys photo journalism and action events.
She markets herself under the names of E-XpressionsPhotography and Crazy Elaine Productions, which cover photography and videography productions.
She recently covered a number of events in Mossel Bay, including the Tourism Photo Safari, Diaz Festival, Flower Show, NSRI, as well as the Sports Festival, concentrating on adrenaline events such as the power boat races, motor cars, rugby, cricket and street photography.
She has had a number of her photos published in the Mossel Bay Advertiser and has also had photographs displayed in the GertRautenbach gallery. She also participated in the Mossel Bay Photographers' exhibition of photos of the 2012 Mossel Bay Sports Festival in the Artbeat Galery, part of the Fringe Art Centre.
Her aim is to capture that one and only moment in time for clients that they will treasure forever. She lives in Reebok and is married to Dirk van der Toorn. They have two children, Machiel and Michelle.
She is a member of the Mossel Bay Photographers, as well as the Eden Photographic Society.
