MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - Africa Month is usually celebrated in May, when the continent of Africa commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU).
Here in Mossel Bay, celebrations started early at the Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex.
Because the Maritime Museum exhibit area will be closed for the public from 28 April until further notice, an Africa Month celebration was held at the museum on Saturday, 1 April.
It was an All Women In Business (AWIB) function. The dress code was traditional and the food and entertainment included a spaza shop.
The women enjoyed dressing up for the theme and entertainment was provided by the Ikhaya dance group.
It was a well attended, bustling function and the organisers said it was a success.
