Update: Protest during voter registration

MOSSEL BAY NEWS FLASH - According to the Mossel Bay Municipality the protestors who took to the streets in KwaNonqaba this morning has dispersed. Mayixhale Street has been reopened for traffic.

The issue was unhappiness over electricity supply to people in informal dwellings on either private property or land not suitable for occupation.

The national Department of Energy finances electrification only when its policy requirements are met.
 
According to the Mossel Bay Municipality, their hands therefore are tied.
