Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - PetroSA on Monday, 17 September, confirmed that an "industrial incident" occurred on the offshore FA Platform last Thursday, 13 September, which resulted in the injury of an employee.
The employee was admitted to the George MediClinic for treatment and is in a stable condition, PetroSA confirmed.
Another employee was also evacuated, was treated for shock and was later discharged.
"The safety and wellbeing of all personnel remain our priority and an investigation is under way to determine the cause of the incident.
"PetroSA personnel resolved the situation with minimal impact on operations and the affected systems are back online," PetroSA spokesperson Tumoetsile Mogamisi confirmed.
