MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Motorists are warned of traffic interruptions due to planned marches in the following week.
• Tuesday, 11 February - Members of the New Rest community will march from Dywili Street, using Adriaans Road, Mayixhale Road, two lanes of Louis Fourie Road and Marsh Street to hand over a petition at the municipal offices in Marsh Street.
The march is planned to depart at 08:00. The marchers will disperse at 12:00. The organisers have indicated approximately 200 participants will participate.
NOTE - For the safety of motorists, Marsh Street will be closed and traffic will be diverted by law enforcement officers.
Expect road closures at the intersections of Marsh Street and Church Street; Louis Fourie Street and Marsh Street; and Da Gama Street and Schoeman Street.
• Wednesday, 12 February - SAMWU members will march from the municipal stores on Schoeman Street to hand over a petition at the municipal offices in Marsh Street. The march is planned to depart at 08:00. It is not clear at what time the march will disperse.
NOTE - For the safety of motorists, Marsh Street will be closed and traffic will be diverted.
Road closures will be at the intersections of Marsh Street and Church Street; Louis Fourie Street and Marsh Street; and Da Gama Street and Schoeman Street.
• Thursday, 13 February - A group of approximately 600 Sanco supporters, accompanied by several taxis will march from the long-distance taxi rank on Mayixhale Road in KwaNonqaba to the municipal offices in Marsh Street. They will leave at approximately 08:15, proceed along Louis Fourie Road and hand over a petition to the mayor at the town hall.

• Mossel Bay law enforcement officers and all the relevant law enforcement agencies will be deployed.
• Mossel Bay Municipality advises motorists and residents to timeously make alternative arrangements to steer clear of the routes planned for the marches.
