MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The festive lights in Mossel Bay will be switched on during a ceremony at the Harry Giddey Park on 14 December at 18:00 for 18:30.
The theme is: Putting Christ back into Christmas and the purpose of the ceremony is to exalt Jesus in a family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Pastor Willy Schmidt is the programme director.
The programme is as follows: 18:00 - welcoming vibe with background music, 18:30 - welcome with a prayer, 18:35 - two Christmas carols, 18:45 - Allen Green, 18:55 - arrival of the mayor while brass band is playing, Lord I lift Your Name on High.
Everyone stands and sings along, 19:05 - Brass Band, 19:15 - Festive Play (Cornelle Carstens and Jesse Bratt), 19:20 - Op Roep vocal ensemble, 19:30 - carols, 19:40 - municipal choir, 19:50 - string ensemble and distribution of candles, 20:00 - Oh Holy Night (Solo by Willy Schmidt), 20:10 - Putting Christ back into Christmas, Vernel Levendal, 20:25 -mayoral address, Alderman Harry Levendal, 20:40 - prayer for children and family, 20:50 - prayer for emergency/social services and officials on duty and praying for peace (Shalom) for our city (pastor and Col Mark Hartzenberg of SAPS), 20:50 - vote of thanks, 20:55 - lights switched on, 21:00 - blessing and benediction.
