She has spent her pocket money on buying some school supplies for this project, in which we aim to collect specific stationery products needed by underprivileged Grade Ones who will be going to school for the first time in 2015.
Melindi challenges other RCL members, as well as Interact members to match or better her contribution. She donated a packet of coloured pencils, a pair of scissors, a pencil bag, erasers, a 30-page Flipfile, retractable crayons, a glue stick, ruler and a pencil sharpener.
In fact, everyone in Mossel Bay - individuals and businesses - are challenged to support our Stationery Drive. We would love to honour all the request that we have received from the various Mossel Bay primary schools, but cannot do so without the generosity and kind-heartedness of local residents and businessmen.
Maybe you have extra office supplies lying around - perhaps a ream of A4 paper, or a packet of pencils that have never been opened. Maybe you are finishing school this year and still have a pencil sharpener or FlipFile that is still in a good condition? Please have a look at our list and see if you can help.
Donations may be dropped off at the office of the Mossel Bay Advertiser: 9 Church Street, Mossel Bay.
Donations will be given recognition in our newspaper (unless the donor prefers to stay anonymous).
