Students demand money allegedly promised to them in September. The money forms part of their National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) bursaries and is intended for accommodation and transport.
One of the students, Abongile Mayeye, told the Mossel Bay Advertiser the students demanded payment of the money by Friday, 21 October.
“The money is owed to us, the South Cape College received the money, it must be paid out.” He said the college administration received a list of the student’s demands.
