GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT NEWS - The George Municipality has a drive-through donation centre for food, hygiene and sanitary products, clothes and blankets. Open weekdays from 08:00 to 18:00, and weekends from 08:00 to 17:00, the centre at the Civic Centre in York Street serves as a depot from which the Social Services department distributes supplies to 140 home-based soup kitchens, more than 7 000 residents.
