MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Calling all dog owners and their mutts to unite, because Covid-19 has prevented them from socialising long enough.
Now, here is an opportunity to stretch a leg and strut your stuff at the SPCA seaside fun morning on 10 October at the Hartenbos Seefront.
At 09:30 dogs, and their owners in tow, will take to the walkway along the beach and watch the girls and guys go by. Hopefully it will not be too exhausting, because exercise is the name of the game and after the lockdown, we all need a little more of that.
For the glamour pooches and the show-offs, there will be ample opportunity to make your mark and prove your point. The different categories to be entered are: most appealing eyes; best rescue; most interesting cross-breed; best matching owner and dog; best trick (one-minute time limit); best puppy under nine months and the dog we’d like to take home.
All funds will help animals at the SPCA and in the community. "Come and have fun with your dogs while you help and support ours," an SPCA spokesperson says.
For the walk, the entry fee of R5 will be charged per paw or foot and for the dog show, which starts at 12:00, it is R10 per category. All dogs must be on a leash.
