MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay's Ricardi Matthee helped to plant a tree last week as part of the activities in the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games being held in Malawi.
Ricardi is part of the South African team at the games. He is a para-athlete who is visually impaired and is taking part in the 100m and 200m track events.
He was due to compete yesterday, Thursday 8 December, but at the time of going to press the results were not available.
The tree planting took place at Lilongwe in Malawi. It was seen as a symbol of unity for the countries involved in the games, the Team SA Facebook site noted.
Ricardi attends Curro Mossel Bay private school.
