MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEOS - Volunteers from the Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team (S.M.A.R.T.) are at the scene in Suiderkruis where a male subantarctic fur seal is presumably resting on the beach.
The seal is a rather rare sight on the South African coastline and could have travelled around 4000 km to get here.
According to a spokesperson for S.M.A.R.T. the seal is in good health, but very tired from the journey.

“We are keeping a watchful eye on him until he returns to the ocean safely. We request the public not to disturb the seal.”
