MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A public engagement meeting about the future of Vintcent Park is taking place on Thursday, 20 August, at 18:00 at the Council Chambers at 101 Marsh Street in Mossel Bay.
The park is a small green area, near Park Primary School, in the suburb of Linkside in Mossel Bay.
It is proposed that the area be rezoned and a block of flats be built there.
Concerned residents contacted the Mossel Bay Advertiser, saying the park was a much-needed green space in the suburb and expressing concern that the block of flats would devalue the properties in the suburb.
They do not want the park to be developed into flats or other types of properties.
In accordance with Covid-19 regulations, no more than 50 people will be allowed in the meeting. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be practised. Residents may also note their opposition to the development by emailing the municipality (admin@mosselbay.gov.za).
