MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - Fifty proud young boys and girls, representative of schools in the greater Mossel Bay area, last weekend celebrated their achievements as sea cadets at the Training Ship Outeniqua.
Commandor Wally Maritz was the guest speaker. He said during his speech that is was a tremendous honour for him to once again be at the graduation.
Maritz was also a sea cadet as a young boy and the first OC of TS Outeniqua.

Father Robin du Plessis read from the Bible and blessed the events through prayer. Proud family members and other guests were treated to a drill display by the sea cadets.
The following awards were given:
- New entry of the year: Seaman Vallentyn
- Attendance of the year: Able seaman Kumalo
- BSQ of the year: Seaman Kama
- Able seaman of the year: Able seaman Riddels
- Piper of the year: Seaman Erasmus
- Sportsman/sportswoman of the year: Seaman Erasmus
- Cadet of the year: Able seaman Adams
- Cygnet of the year: Seaman Jack
- Division of the year: Bravo division
- Special certificates: Seaman Vallentyn, Seaman Plaatjies, Seaman Marhinus, Seaman van Wyk
