MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A police patrol in Mayixhale Street, KwaNonqaba this morning, 19 October, resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle as well as stolen goods.
The KwaNonqaba police confirmed that a case docket of possession of stolen goods had been opened after a variety of goods, as well as a stolen vehicle was discovered.
According to Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, police spokesperson, the police approached an unknown male who was carrying a large television set in Mayixhale Street.
The suspect fled the scene and dropped the TV set at an address he allegedly exited from.
A chase ensued by police, supported by municipal law enforcement, to apprehend the suspect, but he could not be apprehended.
"Upon further investigation into the address where the man was first approached, a white Bantam bakkie was found as well as alleged stolen property," said Kapp.
It was later found that the bakkie had been reported stolen and the case was being investigated by Mossel Bay SAPS.
Kapp said a 53-year-old woman has been arrested and will appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court soon on charges of possession of stolen goods.
