MOSSEL BAY NEWS - To round off Women's Month, the Da Gamaskop Police conducted an outreach to Ruiterbos and Denneprag primary schools in the Ruiterbos area, inland from Mossel Bay.
The emphasis was on awareness of gender-based violence and drug abuse.
Police officers handed out pamphlets and held a colouring in competition, in which the children won prizes.
Sweet parcels and stationery were also handed over by the police.
The outreach was undertaken in partnership with the Mossel Bay Municipality, the anti-drug abuse body, LDAC and the Da Gamaskop community policing forum.
The children received treats, but were also educated during the outreach.
The police officers interacted with the children and conveyed vital messages to them.
