MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Point High School teachers' concert was an absolute hit with the learners, who screamed in delight at their favourite teachers and gave them a standing ovation after the show.
The show took place on Thursday and Friday nights, 22 and 23 March, in the school hall.
The noise levels were unbelievably high because of the thunderous applause and screams.
The melodrama, which consisted mainly of the teachers lip-synching to popular hits, was laugh-out-loud funny - truly a relaxing night out.
Tickets were sold out on Thursday night and the hall was packed. A group of men teachers gave a soulful rendition of Ti Amo by Romanz. The romance was laid on thick, with smoke machines and the men holding roses. They were so serious and passionate you could not help giggling.
They received thunderous applause.

A performance of Robbie Wessels' Mphe die Hoenor was one of those laugh-out-load acts. Then, It's raining men, "performed" by a group of mature women teachers was so funny you cried.
A complete new version of Red Riding Hood was performed.
The mature women teachers really rocked the night. It shows women simply get better as they get older - take for example Susan Sarandon, Meryl Streep and Judy Dench - they just have a special depth and power which comes with age.
Trein na Pretoria was really funny, with the costumes put together well. Die ou tannies was verskriklik snaaks. It was really funny to see their facial expressions - some good acting there. It was heartwarming to see acting headmaster Ferdi Pieterse doing his bit on stage together with his staff, wearing a kortbroek and a pet nogal. What a sport!
Teacher Chante D'Elboux's and her husband Quinton's rendition of Give me a reason by Pink was touching. Chante has a strong, confident stage presence and engages with the audience well.
Jy slaan die wind in my seile was a feel-good number.
Point drama teacher Wourie Delport's enactment of Sia's Chandelier was spirited and confident and she showed she can dance in this and in Justin Bieber's Despacito at the end of the show.
Teacher Lance van Niekerk too showed he has all the moves and had the crowd begging for more in Despacito. There were many more special numbers and moments in the show. Congratulations to all involved. What a team effort.
