MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two High School Point learners have placed second and third in the regional museum speech competition.
In the local, Mossel Bay area, first round of the speech competition, four Point learners took part: Mareli Schoeman, Marli Strydom, Elri Cronje and Marina Barnard. Mareli and Marli qualified to go through to the second round of the competition, which also encompassed the Oudtshoorn and George areas.
On International Museum Day, 27 September, the second round of this competition took place at the Diaz Museum.
The topic was "Should museums depict the unspeakable in South Africa's history?" Mareli and Marli spoke in favour of this.
Point is proud of Mareli, who achieved an overall third and Marli, who came second.
