MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Employees of PetroSA briefly appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court this week on five charges of manslaughter.
This follows the death of two PetroSA employees, Sheradon Baker (30) and Luvuyo Mkutukana (37), on 31 January 2017.
Baker, an operator, and Mkutukana, a mechanical fitter, were working on a vessel when they were reportedly overcome by toxic gases, which claimed their lives.

The charges have been made in terms of Section 22 (a) and (b) of the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996. During the court appearance on Monday, 2 December the case was postponed to 4 March 2020.
The charges were laid by the KwaNonqaba Police and the investigating officer is Sgt Vusi Ndala.
