Patrol horses arrive in Mossel Bay

MOSSEL BAY NEWS & VIDEO - Mossel Bay is a town built on community, natural beauty and adventure.

In 2018 a pilot community project was started to help safeguard locals and visitors over the holiday season.

This involved the Mossel Bay Municipality, the Mossel Bay Community Policing Forum (CPF), the Mossel Bay SAPS, Traffic Department and a handful of willing Garden Route equestrians and their majestic horses.

The patrol will start from the headquarters at Scorpios security and patrol along Diaz beach, crime hotspots in the dunes alongside Diaz, the railway lines, De Bakke beach, Santos beach and then make their way up towards the harbour, stopping by at the old Mossel Bay Yacht Club premises and Sea Gypsy and Le Peron restaurants.

The route will be patrolled by two teams alternating on the following dates:
21 December (16:00 – 22:00)
22 December (12:00 – 16:00)
29 December (12:00 – 16:00)
5 January (12:00 – 16:00)
