GREAT BRAK RIVER NEWS - The Department of Environmental Affairs and Cape Nature held an "authorities meeting" on 20 October to discuss the planned breaching of the Great Brak River estuary.
This follows after multiple fish deaths in the river and complaints from residents about a bad odour at the river mouth.
On 3 November there will be a public estuary forum meeting, where the authorities will indicate the way forward with regard to the opening of the estuary and where interested and affected parties can provide their input into the management of the estuary.
