LITTLE BRAK NEWS - Due to unprecedented actions by unknown members of the public, the opening of the Klein Brak River estuary mouth will be delayed.
Preparation work for the planned breeching was done yesterday, 28 July and concluded at 18:00.
The Mossel Bay Municipality says when the team dedicated to do the necessary work attempted to continue preparations this morning, 29 July at 05:00, the sand berm between the estuary and the preparatory channel were breeched. This caused the water to fill up both the channel and the surrounding area where machinery needs to work.
According to municipal officials on site, rake marks were clearly visible when teams arrived to continue their work this morning. The public is urged to please refrain from interfering with official municipal working sites and to adhere to all the demarcations on site.
