Update
GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - One person sustained moderate injuries in an accident on the Maalgate bridge on the R102 (airport road) earlier this morning, Monday 11 January.
The driver, who was travelling in the direction of George, allegedly lost control over his vehicle near the bridge, after which the trailer he was towing started swerving.
The vehicle hit the barrier and toppled over, landing on its roof. The driver was travelling alone and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
ER24 paramedics treated the man on scene and transported him to hospital for further medical treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery and be discharged later today.
