According to NSRI Mossel Bay station commander, Andre Fraser the NSRI duty crew were activated at 00:18 on Friday morning, 7 April to come to the rescue of the yacht named Mega Motion.
“We launched the sea rescue craft Rescue 15 and, upon arrival on the scene we found the Mega Motion unmanned. We towed the yacht into the Mossel Bay harbour without incident and the yacht was safely moored,” Fraser said.
It appears that the yacht dragged her anchor from her moorings off Santos Beach before landing up in shallow surf off Santos Beach.
