MOSSEL BAY NEWS- Learners at Garden Route Primary School in Mossel Bay finally have a grassy field to play on.
It was officially opened on Saturday and is called the Mivuyo Homane Memorial Playing Field.
The name is in honour of Garden Route Primary School learner, Mivuyo Homane (11), who was killed in an accident on the school grounds on 19 April 2018.

Homane died after he hung on the side of a tipper-truck that was in the process of dropping sand on the terrain, so it could be levelled for a proper playing area.
He lost his grip and fell under the wheels of the truck. More than 1 600 learners attend Garden Route Primary School and until recently they only had two concrete slabs to play on.
The playground was sponsored by more than 14 organisations in Mossel Bay.
