GEORGE NEWS - The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (Sanral) today, 16 January, announced road closures on the N2 at the Gwaing River Bridge outside George, for the purpose of blasting operations.
The N2 will be closed to traffic in both directions on 16, 20 and 22 January for approximately 30 minutes, from 13:00 to 13:30.
An alternative route during this short closure will be available along the R102. Traffic officers will be on site to regulate the traffic accordingly.
"Reduced speed limits will be enforced during the construction period and we urge motorists to observe all warning signs for their own safety, the safety of other motorists and that of the construction workers on the road. We will endeavour to complete the blasting operations as quickly as possible, and where the road can be opened sooner, we will do so," said Randall Cable, Sanral Western Region manager.
