MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two arrests were made following the murder of a man and the rape of a woman during the early hours of Sunday morning, 27 January.
The woman, who is from Oudtshoorn and was visiting Mossel Bay for a church gathering, was with a man at a home in KwaNonqaba when two men entered the house. The perpetrators stabbed the man, who died on the scene.
They raped the woman. The perpetrators then took the keys of the victim's vehicle and forced the woman to accompany them when they left the scene in a BMW.
One of the perpetrators who was arrested was taken into custody by the Department of Correctional Services as he was wanted for absconding on a charge of murder.
The other suspect lives in close proximity to where the murder took place. He was traced on his way to work and has since made a full disclosure to the police.
The KwaNonqaba police found a number of the items that were stolen at the time and have sent the clothes for forensic investigation.
The suspects appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on charges of murder, rape, theft, and kidnapping.
