MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipality last night, 11 November was awarded first prize in their category in the 2021 IMESA/CESA Excellence Awards, competing against 7 other noteworthy projects.
The municipality walked away with the laurels in the category upliftment and job creation.
The award winning project is the municipality’s upgrading of informal settlements programme (UISP) emergency shared basic services.
The Institute of Municipal Engineering of Southern Africa (IMESA) and the Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) Excellence Awards call for entries from local, provincial and government or semi-government authorities and/or their engineering consultants to submit entries.
Entries submitted must show excellence in planning and design, construction methods and innovation and originality. It must meet social and technical challenges and contribute to the well-being of the community.
Rudolf Schroder (Zutari Ingenieurs, Project Manager), Carel Venter (Director: Planning and Integrated Services, Mossel Bay Municipality) and Lindilizwi Mngxekeza (Manager: Human Settlements, Mossel Bay Municipality) with the award.
