MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Transnet National Ports Authority has upgrading plans for Mossel Bay harbour, it announced in a media statement this week.
The statement read: "Strategic initiatives in the port of Mossel Bay include the construction of the cruise reception facility to enable international cruise vessels to call at the port.
"The slipway rehabilitation project planned for the 2024/25 financial year will increase the port’s slipway and cradle capacity from 200 to 500 tons." TNPA noted it also has plans to improve Cape Town and Saldanha harbours.
“The execution of these projects is not only a demonstration of our commitment to investing in the creation of additional port capacity, but also critical for TNPA to respond to the need to improve the operational performance of the ports,” said acting TNPA managing executive for the Western Region ports, Captain Vernal Jones.
