MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - The Mossel Bay Advertiser interviewed two men after a woman posted on Facebook about how the two went out of their way to assist her when she was stranded after shopping at a mall.
She wrote on the Facebook page that Nielen Britz, a car attendant at the Mosselbaai Mall, "effortlessly and without any compensation, changed my flat tyre on the morning of 12 October, while demonstrating his every move" so as to teach her how to do it herself if she needed to in future.
Dumisani Nqola, also at Mosselbaai Mall, and a worker at Food Lover's Market, offered to assist her with her parcels.
"When I told him I would do it myself, as I had no cash with me, he insisted, saying: 'No mevrou ... where I come from, we were taught to always assist a lady and to make her load lighter, no matter what it takes!'
The woman posted: "When I asked him, 'And where is it you come from?' he answered with a broad smile: 'Mossel Bay, mevrou.
'Born and bred and raised and lived here all my life!'"
She wrote in the Facebook post: "Do we realise enough that we have a gem of a town, with the kindest community in the whole world? Keep it up Dumisani and Nielen! May we continue to pay it forward."
