MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A man, allegedly from the Eastern Cape and residing in Izinyoka, died of his wounds in hospital following violence during a so-called "bundu court" incident.
According to the Da Gamaskop Police, a complaint was received regarding a person who was being assaulted by members of the community. On arrival of the police, the victim was found bleeding heavily and unable to speak. Emergency services were alerted to take the victim to hospital.
It is rumoured that the victim was assaulted after he tried to steal a mattress from an unknown person.
Upon enquiry from the police, the victim was made known as Thandolwethu Mabona. Police confirm that eyewitnesses are not coming forward with further information and no arrests have yet been made.

Home set alight
The home of a suspect in a murder that took place in KwaNonqaba, was set alight by angry members of the community on 29 December.
The incident followed the fatal stabbing of a man in the New Rest informal settlement, Upon the police's arrival to investigate the crime, members of the community attacked the suspect and proceeded to set his home alight.
The suspect was taken into custody by the KwaNonqaba Police and taken to hospital for medical treatment. He has since been released into police custody and will appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court.
