MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Three Mossel Bay surfers have been selected for the Eden team to participate in the SA Masters and Open Surfing Championships at St Michaels in KwaZulu-Natal in May.
They are Kane Johnstone, Lukhangele Tabata and Shaun Joubert.
The contest takes place from 16 to 21 May.
The second leg of the "Rip Curl GromSearch" contest took place at Victoria Bay outside George last weekend, 10 to 12 March.
Top junior surfers from throughout South Africa, ranging from U12 to U18 boys and girls, arrived at Victoria Bay to contest the coveted trophy of Rip Curl Grom Champion.
The surfers tackled some challenging waves at the point at Victoria Bay.
Johnstone progressed to the semi-finals in his age group.
The next three GromSearch events in the five-series contest are:
- 31 March to 2 April, Scottburgh; 29 to 30 July, Port Alfred; 31 September to 1 October, Seal Point, Cape St Francis (Eastern Cape).
