MOSSEL BAY NEWS - With the holiday season almost in full swing and the Blue Flag season having commenced on 1 December, lifeguards have been deployed on 23 beaches in the Mossel Bay area.
Mossel Bay has 26 beaches in its municipal area.
Lifeguards are on duty from 09:00 to 18:00 daily during deployment.
Beach goers are urged to avoid swimming when lifeguards are not on duty. Swimming when life guards are not on duty is at your own risk.
Lifesavers are deployed from 1 December to 31 January at the Blue Flag beaches, which include the following:
• Little Brak River (mouth)
• Santos
• De Bakke
• Hartenbos
• Glentana
Lifesavers are deployed from 1 December to 13 January at other swimming beaches within the municipal area from Vleesbaai to Glentana.
Beach goers are urged to carefully heed instructions from the lifeguards on duty pertaining to sea conditions and general public safety on beaches.
