MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Point High School started participating in the Odd Socks project in 2019.
The project entails the collection of socks that have lost their partners (odd socks) and then re-matching them with similar socks. These new pairs of socks are then donated to the homeless.
Point recently donated 210 pairs of re-matched socks to The Haven night shelter in Mossel Bay.
Boekies for Cookies is another of the HYPI (Helping Youth Progress and Interact) projects by Point High School. HYPI is Point's social help club.
Learners donate books and magazines to the school. In return they receive a cupcake for every 10 books or magazines they donate. The items collected this year were also donated to The Haven night shelter.
Minette van Zyl and Lisa Coetzee, the project leaders of Boekies for Cookies, sorted through the magazines and books.
