One of the club members, Sandra Blythe-Wood, contacted Mossel Bay Advertiser to tell of the special occasion.
Helen's sister, Barbara Davidson, is also a club member and was present at the lunch, where there was a tangible atmosphere of excitement, bustle and sparkle.
There were balloons and a table spread with gift bags, bottles of wine and other items to be handed out.
An iced cake to mark the 30th anniversary also had pride of place on the table.
