MOSSEL BAY NEWS - In an effort to continue relieving the need for wholesome food, a local woman has started a project called Jar of Hope.
Glass jars are filled with soup mix and the existing brand name label is replaced with cooking instructions to prepare a hearty soup.
“Thus far, 170 jars have been filled,” says Michelle Saayman. “We will be distributing the first jars at Garden Route Primary School tomorrow to Grade 7 learners. Our focus is initially to focus on distribution among Grade 7 and 12 learners who are going back to school this week.”
The project will continue throughout June.
Anyone wishing to contribute empty jars, coffee jars are ideal, or soup mix can contact Michelle Saayman (082 373 9204).
