MOSSEL BAY NEWS - We've heard of ladies who lunch - and there are plenty of them in Mossel Bay. Now we have ladies who swim.

Local resident Hester Bosman and a group of her friends make a point of swimming in the Poort at the Point in Mossel Bay most mornings. And that is winter and summer!

The women have great fun. They goof around, do a bit of synchronised swimming together in a circle and generally enjoy exercising and socialising at the same time.

Hester says: "Sometimes we throw a flower on the water, if one of us or one of our children is going through a hard time. It's a case of putting a thought out there."

It is said a picture tells a thousand words. Well, by the happy smiles on the women's faces, it's clear they are having a blast and it's worthwhile leaving their cosy duvets in the morning to enjoy spectacular sunrises over the bay and the bracing, cold sea.
