Imbizos to address housing questions

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Have you ever wondered what criteria would qualify you for an RDP house or other housing subsidies?

Do you know what is meant by the housing programme on pipeline?

Do you know how to ensure your home against natural disasters?

What is the right procedure you should follow when you think of selling your house? What does the municipality mean with the "Upgrading of Informal Settlement Programme"?

For answers to these and other questions, residents are invited to join the Human Settlements Department in a series of housing imbizos during September.

The municipality is reaching out to those wards with the greatest need for subsidised housing opportunities. The imbizos are intended to explain housing opportunities and programmes and will allow opportunities for comments from the community.

Strong relationship
Hopefully, the imbizos will assist in building a strong relationship between the municipality and the communities.

The 2021 Housing Imbizo will not be in the format of a normal community meeting like previous imbizos, due to Covid-19 regulations. It will take the form of a dual approach since face-to-face sessions will be limited to sessions with the respective ward councillors and ward committee members.

In addition, the community is invited to join the municipality's Facebook Live platform session with the IDP Road Shows will also take place for the different wards, and residents may post comments during these sessions: https://www.facebook.com/mosselbaymun

The sessions of the IDP meetings start at 18:00, with the housing imbizos for the targeted wards following directly after the IDP presentations.
